I'm very upset with Selfmed/Carecross. My GP wants to refer me to an orthopedic surgeon to look at my knee, I've been walking with excruciating pain since December. After 6 e-mails to Selfmed and Carecross to help me find a network orthopedic surgeon, I eventually got an answer after a week and a half!

Unfortunately the closest one is almost 50 km's from me. If I have to get surgery that means I'll have to travel that far to a hospital. I have 2 small children at home, this is really not possible for me. Why can't they authorise a visit to an orthopedic surgeon in my area and pay medical aid rates, the rest I'll cover myself? So if I have to go for surgery it's at least in my area and no need to travel that far. Please, if anyone can see my frustration and help me???
