DO NOT USE SELFMED!!!
It is with a very heavy heart that I have to call out a large South African company that claims to help so many people. I joined the Selmed group at the beginning of the year (around March) and went onto their network option Selfnet, having assumed that all the correct information was given to me by their sales person Trevor.<br> I was never fully explained all the short falls of having this plan IE: They do not pay for non admitted emergencies (I took my baby to Union hospital with a very hight fever and had to pay them off cause Selfnet would not cover it.)<br> I have also been looking for a OBGYN on their plan but got informed that I only have R 750.00 for the year for myself and my 16 month old to use for the year on specialists.... for the whole year? Do they realise that if I use it to see an OBGYN that not only does it not cover the full consultation but then I would have nothing to use should my baby be sick and need a peads doc? So to add insult to my now 7 months pregnant mind, the head of this useless salespersons department calls to tell me that the call they said where being recorded where not recorded.... I am now lost up a river without a paddle. DONT USE SELFMED!!!
