Disappointed in selfmed medical scheme
If you ever need advice on a medical aid never like in never go to ********** the are pathetic, I have been in the hospital and needed to pay everything and they do not pay us back. I have bought glasses for me and then they say they will not pay it in 12 months. I'm very disappointed in them. We have paid them 3 months in advance for waiting period after that everything we do like hospitals or doctors they do not pay anything so what is the point being a member? So please do not go to them they steel your money

The Scheme prides itself with providing excellent service and regret that this is not what you experienced.
Underwriting is app**** to an applicant upon registration as per the Medical Scheme's Act and is confirmed with the member upon registration. If a twelve month pre-existing condition is imposed then benefits for that condition is excluded for a twelve month period.
