No assistance from company despite paying money

In March 2014, I requested the services of Sekretari to assist me to obtain copies of CIPC documents.

I was told that it would cost me R250 and they would be able to obtain the documents within 15 working days. I made the payment and I haven't had much joy since then.

I have contacted the company via email on numerous occasions and they always state that they have requested the documents and have received little or no response from CIPC.

I eventually contacted another company who then liaised with CIPC and was able to obtain my documents within a few working days.

Sekretari is a useless company. Do not make use of their services. They will take your money and not deliver on their promises.

Hello dangerboy,

I took note of your complaint on Hellopeter and firstly I would like to apologise for the lack of service you feel you received from us as we pride ourselves on being excellent service providers.

I would like to provide some background from our perspective in terms of the complaint:

The reason why you had to pay upfront is that you do not have a credit account with Sekretari, and our policy is that all COD clients should pay up front. This is a common practise with businesses and allows us to secure the order with our supplier.
We did apply for copies on 6 March 2014 and have since been in contact with you on several occasions as well as locking queries on CIPC regarding the outstanding copies. Proof of this correspondence can be sent to you should you wish so.

I do understand your frustration in this regard, but would like to point out that any person dealing with CIPC in South Africa would surely share your and our frustration.

I am relieved that you did manage to get the copies and I believe that the full amount has been refunded to you.
