BE careful of Segi's Auto. Take time dated before pics when taking your vehicle there

Don't ever think you can trust a person even after 16+ years of knowing and having trust in them. My mechanic is well known in Midrand and on DSTV & Radio and this solidified my belief that all is well besides knowing him on a personal level... He can easily work on any of my cars, and family vehicles, and be able to pay him later or after a few days. That's the level of trust and friendship we had until recently.

Late in Sept 2022, I took my Nissan 1.5DCI NP*** model with 68000 odd kms on the clock for a rear excel repair or replacement assessment. After a week he called and we agreed he can help me sort it out as he quoted R7k to buy a new 1 and R2.7k to repair the existing one. After a week, he called and said he is busy stretching and aligning the damaged rear excel but won't be 100%

Discovered that the supposed stretched-out rear Axel is not the original from a 2019 vehicle that was changed for a defective one too. You can see if metal like that has gone through a process of being stretched out or been machined to try to fix what was wrong with it. So I managed to get in 1 single day a secondhand one from Joburg s****yard and dealer and replaced it there and then same day & same time (took 2hrs and not over 3 weeks).

The vehicle took 3 weeks and came back with several old swapped-out parts namely: Review swapped-out (Mirror that looked aged with roughed-out edges) The engine cover has been changed for an old warn-out, greasy underneath one that looked been there for donkey ages Carpets (Have a 1 x Toyota Avanza mat I never owned nor previously had in the bakkie and an old warn out and used npP200 carpet) Head lights both been swapped out for old defected ounces, Powe steering pump, front wheel bearings are noisy on a 3year old low milage bakkie!... moer!!! Hand brake does not work at all it has been tempered with. Even the from grill is a worn out one. I had 1 damaged rim from the side the accident occurred but the vehicle came back with 2 damaged rims (all Rims and 2 Barum tires were swapped for old continentals front tires) after 1st complaint he replaced the old oily and rusty rims for new ones but my tires are still missing and claimed they were damaged whereas only 1 was and now I am sure I bought new brake pads prior to the accident and only discovered that the front brake pads were finished entirely and s****ing the front disk. My only mistake was that I did not keep the slip from Golfwagen from last year December to prove that. The bakkie was in an accident with only 69000kms on the clock on the 22 Feb 2022 and ever since its been standing in my garage till Sept 2022 when I took it to Segi's Auto. A personal friend that *****ed me for more than 16 years, took my previous vehicle to him and had the services with no problems. Even this bakkie was once hijacked and recovered and he repaired the steering covers and replaced the keys for me with no problems. But this time around. He must have thought I would see or notice these discrepancies. I completely lost my mind and questioned him and denied it. My mirror has not been replaced and he said he will replace it. When I try to reach out to him he ignored my Whatsapp messages and calls. I am also now short with 1 tire after I took all the rims including the one I had at home while the vehicle was with him for the second time. Segi is a **** if you not careful he will take advantage as he did with me.

So People: one other solution/advice. Download any GPS camera (this app will dates tamp, and set the time of the photo taken including the GPS area at the time of any photo taken on your phone) from your play store on your smartphone and take as many as possible before and after photos, screenshot all WhatsApp conversations, save voice notes, and for proof and evidence. It is the only way to catch them out
