Give one month notice before you die!

Well where to start, lets put it this way please make sure you give one month notice before dying, my late husband was renting a flat in secunda and suddenly passed away on the 25th of a month, I came up and cleaned out his flat and was sure to leave it clean and everything, after almost a month I ask about his deposit, as conviently his agent was not there the day I arrived and had to deal with a assistant, I asked what about the deposit and she said the agent will be in contact, they did not notify me of anything, I could have tried to get someone to rent the place in that time but they just did not comunicate anything - so now when I asked, what is going on, 1st she missed my 1st message, then the excuse was they did not have my contact details - but I gave it to the owner and the assistant. No they are saying I will not get the deposit, they had to pay it to the owner for loss of income, so I asked for a copy of his signed rental agreement as I am his legal wife - they refused to give it to me as I was not on there as next of kin. This rental agency is one of the worst, I have many other distasteful experiences with them. As the situation is my husband had no policies not even a funeral plan in place, so as a widow with 2 children of one is a minor the other just turned 18, that deposit I was depending on to cover costs.
