Unprofessional Conduct – Sne Mkhize (Seeff Pinetown)

I am writing to formally raise a complaint regarding your agent, Sne Mkhize, in relation to our recent tenancy at [property address].

Background

We had a lease agreement for over a year, with all rent paid on time and the property maintained responsibly.

In September 2025, we were issued a notice to vacate by the end of October — only one month’s notice despite a full year’s tenancy.

Issues Arising

1. Unreasonable notice and pressure: The one‑month notice was insufficient given our family circumstances, children’s schooling, and the need to find suitable accommodation.

2. Lack of support or assistance: Despite our tight deadline, we received no help or guidance from Ms. Mkhize to find alternative accommodation; we had to manage everything ourselves.

3. Harsh, inflexible communication and demands: After requesting a reasonable extension to December (agreed verbally with the landlord), Ms. Mkhize continued to insist on strict lease terms, demanded additional rent, and overlooked the practical circumstances we were dealing with.

4. Harassment, stress, and emotional pressure: Her repeated demands and rigid stance during our search and relocation caused undue stress during an already difficult transition.

5. Deposit not refunded or addressed: Though the notice to vacate was issued by the agency/landlord — not by us — we have not yet received our deposit, nor have we been given clarity on its refund despite our compliance and move-out.

6. Pattern of unprofessionalism: The conduct above shows a clear pattern of disregard for tenant welfare and basic decency, rather than a one-off mistake or misunderstanding.

Compliance and Good Faith from Our Side

We secured alternative accommodation and moved out responsibly.

We coordinated the handover professionally and honoured our obligations.

We maintained the property throughout our tenancy.

We communicated our needs and concerns respectfully, even under pressure.

Request for Action

Given the above, we request that Seeff Durban:

Review and assess the conduct of Ms. Sne Mkhize regarding this tenancy.

Ensure that agents act professionally, ethically, and with respect for tenants in future.

Process the refund of our deposit or provide a detailed statement of any deductions — given that the relocation was initiated by your agency/landlord.

We believe this complaint deserves appropriate review and action, to protect future tenants from similar treatment.
