STILL NO SERVICE OR REFUND FROM SECURITY EXPERTS

Just a follow-up on the lack of service from Security Experts...

Below this feedback is the original post on HelloPeter.com, for reference.

On Tuesday6 June I called at the offices of this company, to find out in person what the problem is with lack of delivery or alternatively lack of refund. Their website (http://www.securityexperts.co.za/contact/) states that they are open from 07h00. On arrival at 07h25 I had to stand and wait for the office to be opened. Hmmm... good start.

When I got inside and asked for the CEO (Herm**** JP van Niekerk), I was told that he had not yet arrived. Hmmm...

Tanya had also not arrived... Hmmm...

I then enquired from a woman who I later discovered to be Angeline van Niekerk as to the nature of the problem, and why I had not yet had the courtesy of a response. She immediately launched into a diatribe, berating me for having the audacity to approach HelloPeter.com; she wanted to know if I had no feeling about the staff working at the company, and did I not feel that I was being unreasonable, and did I realise that the company could close as a result of lost custom, etc. etc.. This whole conversation, on her part, was conducted an shouting volume... this must be the latest approach to Sales and Marketing 101: How to Retain Your Customers. A suggestion Angeline; NEVER, EVER shout at your clients, as this will do nothing to save the situation! Another suggestion; respond to a customer's query, whether by telephone or email; this goes a long way to helping sort outa problem. The ONLY email I received from you / your company was after you received notification of the initial posting on HelloPeter.com

Eventually a guy called Stuart (he seems to be in some type of management position) came out of the back office and offered to assist.

I explained the saga to him, and he undertook in writing to have the burglar bars installed by close of business on Wednesday 7-June. His manner, and approach to my problem impressed me, so much so that I believed him and decided to accept the installation rather than cancel the contract. In addition to the written undertaking to install, he included in writing that failure to install as per the agreed-upon date, the company would refund, in full, the amount of R2800-00, this being the amount I paid on 2-May for the supply and installation of burglar bars.

My part of the agreement was to report back to HelloPeter.com that the bars had been installed, and to state whether or not I was satisfied. I have now done what I agreed to do, and have reported back. Unfortunately the situation is not what was agreed with Stuart, and I am FAR FROM SATISFIED... the bars have still not been installed...! I have now exercised my option of having the full amount of R2800-00 refunded. I have no wish to conduct further business with this supplier.

QUOTED BELOW THE ORIGINAL POST ON HELLOPETER.COM

Their Quotation / Contract / Invoice header states "Hassle-Free Installations. Yeah, right...!

On 2 May I approached Security Experts in Alberton (Alrode) to install 2 of Spanish Bars on my workshop. The two windows measure 1.5m wide and 500mm high (average bathroom-sized windows).

The sales-agent (Jaco), said that all stops would be pulled to ensure that the bars were installed before I went on leave on 8-May. He in fact called the office and spoke to someone there, who said that it would be possible. Based on this "guarantee", I paid the full price of R2800-00.

By the morning of 8-May this bunch has still not been out to install the bars. This despite me having called Jaco twice during Monday 7-May to find out what was happening. I subsequently sent this crowd an email, requesting that the order be cancelled, and that the money be refunded. To date, still nothing has been received.

On returning from leave last week Thursday (22-May), I called Jaco and advised him that I was back from leave, and requested that he ensure that the bars are installed, or my money refunded. Yep...! You guessed correctly; still nothing.

My wife has spoken to Tanya, as well as another female, whose name escapes me now, and both of them have assured her that the bars would be installed by yesterday afternoon (30-May) 17h00. Again... nothing

I feel I have given them ample opportunity to come to the party. Now the gloves come off.

UNQUOTE

Hello Derek,

We do apologize for the miscommunication as per your post above, although this matter was solved that both parties could walk away smiling.

LIES, LIES AND MORE LIES... WHERE DO YOU STOP?

I REALLY don't know what **** you people are smoking, but it must be excellent...

For the record, I DID NOT walk away smiling, but left shaking my head in dismay at your pathetic lack of service, broken promises and lies. Yes... LIES, LIES and MORE LIES.

Yes, I did get my money back, but only after I threatened legal action, which would have included a request to my lawyer to sue for costs of the case as well!

SO, don't bull**** any further prospective clients (although I hardly thing anybody in their right mind would want to support your company after reading through this) by trying to suggest that we settled amicably; we DID NOT. It was under threat of legal action!
