SECURITY OFFICERS AT SECURITAS HAVING MORE POWER WHEN THEY DEAL WITH HELPLESS FEMALES.

On the 24th of January 2023 I encountered an incident at Centennial Place where one of the security guards who is employed by Securitas caused an obstruction in one of the lanes where I should enter the business park.

I advised the security guard who said his name is 'Baby' that there is an obstruction therefore I am unable to enter the premises. Unfortunately, the security guard was rude and advised that he will not open the other lane. This 'other lane' is predominantly used when there is an obstruction in the visitors lane and I have been advised on various occasions by the same security guard that I should make use of the lane allocated for staff members.

However, on the 25th of January 2023 after work I attempted to enter Centennial Place which is the site the security guard is stationed and he refused me access. This was very strange as he is alleging that I do not respect his work. In my opinion the security guard does not respect his own work, as he is constantly on his phone and on a few occasions I had to wait a few minutes before I get access.

I contacted Mrs Mafuta one of the managers at Securitas and explained the situation and she assured me that she will revert back to me. We are facing a new day and this afternoon I need to collect one of my lift club passengers again and the matter has not yet been resolved.

I am very displeased by the service and also blatant patriarchy that Securitas is endorsing. 'Baby' might be an employee of Securitas and yes he is there to ensure that the access is controlled at Centennial Place however, there has been many instances where he would get angry when you are in the wrong lane because he unilaterally decided that he will not open the visitors barrier.

Furthermore, when I left the gate 'Baby' took a picture of my vehicle and that does not sit well with me. We live in a country where women are ******ed every day hence, my vehicle details should not be on his cellular device.

It is sad that I have to write a review about Securitas who I see has sites all over South Africa. However, their manager failing to revert back to me is another sad part of this whole incident.

My question is what threat do I pose to the businesses at Centennial Place or not allowing me access just a misogynists way of enforcing his authority and applying patriarchy when exercising his duties as a security guard.
