"Apathy and Indifference" - Securitas' Cornerstone Modus Operandi

I emailed the following letter to the management of Securitas and have not received a letter of acknowlegement nor a courtesy follow up. This was exactly the core of my complaint.

Here is the letter that I sent:

"

To whom it may concern,

This letter is one of complaint, and heartfelt complaint at that. Yesterday at approximately 1630 hours I sought entry into the 'Century View. complex. This is not the first time I have had problems when entering this establishment.

I have been going to the same residence to teach their son for over a year. It seems to me that your security guards at the gate get an immense amount of smug satisfaction providing a hinderance for entry.

My wallet which contains my drivers license had been misplaced. I do however have a valid South African identity book. This seems to suffice anywhere else in the country except at the gate of Century View, which is represented by Securitas.

At my insistence, and not actual Security guard's offering, the resident Mrs Sarah Chu, kindly came with her son James to give permission for entry into complex. She had her Gate card with her.

The security guard, Sitophu was rude, and threatened to report her for granting me permission to enter the complex. I believe the residents of 17 Century Grove are legitimate ratepayers contributing to the payment of your organisation. This all in front of her seven-year-old child James.

You may contend that Sitophu was simply doing his job. In my opinion he was doing exactly the opposite of his job. As I have been going to the complex for over a year now I should be seen as not a threat. Instead, their satisfaction are insisting on nothing else except the drivers license is infuriating.

Even if I were stopped by the police for driving without a license; having a valid identity book in hand, it is my right to produce my license within 24 hours at a police station.

Here is what I offered:

a) a pleasant disposition on communicating with your security guard

b) a valid South African identity book

c) a valid registered vehicle

In all fairness to you, having investigated 'Hello Peter' for similar complaints, most people have said that Securitas is very good at following up on complaints. Therefore I await your response before I launch a further social-media/ Internet and public campaign.

Yours sincerely, "

A follow up on this review:
Although I maintain the security was agitated, it would seem that he, nor Securitas are directly responsible. They have been given an unwavering directive by the Body Corporate of 'Century View'.
As I was simply seeking a polite acknowledgement of above complaint from any authority involved, it has come to my attention that it is not Securitas but the faulty policies if the Body Corporate that would allow for a simple scenario to escalate. As a person simply I will not allow myself to feel violated and disrespected without seeking a follow through.
The fact that the Trustees and Body Corporate have responded to the residents (my clients) with reactionary and open threatening of fines and rescinding of gate cards, absolves Securitas of my above complaint and lays full ownership of the potential of the above scenario on Century View itself.
The matter is subsequently between the residents and the Trustees. However for the record, I am still upset and offended by the way Mrs. Sara Chu, her son James and I were treated.
