The attack of an immature barista and offline loyalty system - Caltex Jan Smuts

Shocking and unacceptable excuse for "customer service" @ Caltex Jan Smuts Seattle express shop! Busisizwe, the barista who took my cappuccino order on Saturday 08 Aug 2020, informed me that the loyalty program service was offline and that I would not get my points. I responded gently and rep**** "It can't be my problem". Nevertheless, I punched in my telephone number (as usual), took the transaction slip and made my way to the cashier for payment. To my surprise, while queuing, the barista complained to another customer how rude I was (in an attempt to get my attention). I paid for the coffee, advanced to the collection point and confronted the barista by asking him why he thought I was rude. Immediately he raised his voice and falsely stated that I told him " I do not care", whereas, in my capacity of a loyal paying customer, how can the barista bluntly attack me for operational & systematic issues in such an unprofessional way? Reading other customer reviews, there seems to be frequent issues and downtime with Seattle Coffee's online loyalty service - it really is not the customer's problem! Busisizwe's embarrassed himself and clearly lacks maturity. To blame the company's problem on a customer, and to attempt to lobby with other customers to make me feel unwelcome, is 100% unacceptable. You have lost a loyal customer and luckily there are various other good coffee shops to choose from. You will never see me or my family visiting Seattle Coffee again!
