Bad customer service

I booked a room a week ago for the 24th of July 2021 with seapoint holiday hotel through booking.com. I phone the wednesday the 21st of July 2021 to confirm my stay and the guy said yes it wont be a problem. When i arrived saturday at about 12pm, the lady at the reception told me that there was no booking for me. I showed her my confirmation email and she just said that there was no rooms available for that night. I am very upset for this and had to run around looking for accommodation. Is this how people do business in SA, no wonder everything is going the way it is.
