Absolutely **** Service

Absolutely **** Service 1. I took my Sandero for a service with Renault Early in August, the service consultant called to say that my tensioner and cam belt needed to be replaced and would be covered by warranty. I requested a courtesy vehicle, which any motor company should provide when your ONLY vehicle is with them under a warranty repair. I was told I will not get a courtesy vehicle and my car was not driveable and they were not sure if they had parts, so my car had to stay there for at least a week. I had to fetch my wife from work and had a doctor’s appointment later in the week because we are expecting parents. I was told this while I was at home with NO transport. The dealership was not willing to fetch my wife to drop her off at home. Nor make any kind of compromise. I was told that I will need to rent a vehicle @ R171 a day, excluding fuel!! I had no choice. *I feel this is taking advantage of the client’s situation* (Totale uitbuiting as we say in Afrikaans.) So come to the dealership get the rental. Drive off and *BEEP* the reserve light goes off!! Now I have to pray I get to a filling station before the fuel runs out. ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS!!!

2. OK, fast forward a few days. Car is now serviced and everything done. They tell me my hooter is not 100% and needs to be replaced, another warrantee repair. Again I ask for a courtesy vehicle. Same response. This time we can we travel with the shuttle as both myself and my wife work at the same place, so not such a biggy. A few hours later they call to say my front left park light bulb is dead, the sales consultant quotes me verbally for R185 for the part and fitment. I agree, and instruct to go ahead. Get to the dealership to pay for the bulb and other stuff I had done. Then the sales consultant tells me that the technician made a mistake and sent the wrong part number to TWO separate sales consultants, and will be triple the price. Now this where I fell completely off the trolley. The technician made the error. You gave me a verbal quote which I accepted, this was then accepted by the dealership and the bulb was replaced. That is legally binding. Your dealership has to carry the cost according to the CPA. Now the manager (Charne or Charlene? My memory fails me) sits in her office barking orders to the poor sales consultant not wanting to face the client herself. Eventually she comes out of the office and tells me that they will remove the newly fitted bulb and re-fit my OLD BROKEN bulb as they cannot give me a bulb that is triple the price of the one quoted. The Dealership made the F*UP now you want the client to pay for your mistake! Unacceptable! You are willing to lose a client and his lifetime of possible trade-ins and / or car sales over a little more than R200. I will NEVER IN MY LIFE buy Renault again!
