SCREED FLOORING SA
<div>We contracted Screed Flooring SA – below is exactly the sequence of events. To date these people have not even apologized for the behavior and what they have subjected us to. They have indicated we will receive no refund from them for the terrible work done. As a result we are getting in different contractors to first fix what these guys have done and then redo our flooring. We have lost just over R16000 which I just feel is completely unfair to honest working class people like us and I want to know – is there any way for us to get these funds back because we are now duplicating our costs and they are referring us to their legal team – and we are individuals who do not have the funds for the hourly rates of attorneys. I have attached pictures if the final product as well as the invoice for the work performed and the email communication from their team. We have paid them in full ☹

Client names Sulaiman Fazila Supplier: Screed Flooring Company contact office based: Inge Project manager: Rudy Project Supervisor: Bertram 4 Nov 2021 Rudy arrives at clients premises to provide quote and whether or not self levelling should be done While the client's building contractors were witness to Rudy's statements, Rudy confirmed no self levelling be performed. Quote was provided excluding self levelling and the client proceeded to pay a 40% deposit to secure the booking for later in November 2021. 9 Nov 2021 Inge confirms to client via email that the job will commence on 11 Nov 2021 and provided a full breakdown of what the job would entail indicating the full time of 3 days to be spent at the client to complete. 11 Nov 2021 At 9:30am client calls Inge to confirm what time the team would be arriving to commence work At 12pm still no team has arrived on site Client calls Inge constantly only to be told the Project supervisor is in between sites Project Supervisor is called by the client to confirm what time he would be arriving at the client to commence work Project Supervisor indicated - in the afternoon At 2:30pm no one had still arrived. Client continued to chase the supplier telephonically. At 4:30pm Bertram arrives and looks at the floor and says he cannot grind the floor it would take 3 days and that self levelling would have to be done before job can commence Client indicates this was not as per initial consultation nor quote. But Bertram indicated to client that his team would be out early the next morning to complete self levelling. No specific time was given 12 Nov 2021 Client contacts Inge at 9:30am to state that Bertram and his team had not arrived. Inge states he is in between sites. At 11am client contacts Bertram - he indicates he is at another site and would be at clients premises before 12pm and will call 30min before his arrival. At 12pm Bertram still had not called so client called Rudy to chase up Bertram. Bertram drops off his guys at clients premises after 12:30pm. The team completes self levelling until after 5pm that afternoon. Bertram TELLS client he will be over on Saturday to drop off tools at 2pm and that his team will be out on Sunday to perform casting. Client was not even asked to check whether they would be available over the weekend. 13 Nov 2021 At 2pm client at home awaiting tool drop off At 2:20pm Bertram contacts client indicating that there was a death in his family and he would overload his vehicle the following day when the job will be done and bring everything. 14 Nov 2021 Team arrives 9:30am at clients premises, no greeting no engaging with client, they just complete the work throughout the day. At this point, client just wants the job done and these people out of their space forever. Around 5pm Bertram collects his guys and indicates his team will be out on Monday morning to complete sealing. Client specifically stated that he needed all work to be completed before 12pm on Monday and Bertram assured client this would be done. Client also indicated that the finish on the sealing should be satin finish and not matte finish. 15 Nov 2021 At 9:30am client calls Bertram to find out where he and his team are - Bertram indicates once again he is between sites and will get to the client when he can. Client indicated the arrangement and AGREEMENT of the previous day for the current day before 12pm and Bertram stated that his day is dictated by Inge and Rudy, not the client. Client proceeds to call Rudy who does not answer client's calls. Client contacts Inge who indicates Rudy is between sites and that client must document all concerns on email. Inge indicates at 9:10am that full payment should be made to Screed Flooring prior to the team coming out to complete sealant. (Why could this not have been brought to the client's attention by Bertram prior to the time? Client executes EFT of the full remaining balance outstanding at 9:27am and forwards proof of payment to Screed Flooring. Bertram drops off his team after 11:50am and leaves them with one sealant bottle labelled MF (Matt finish?). The two guys complete the first application sealant by 1pm. They sit around..... at 3pm the client asks why the second sealant application did not yet occur and they indicated that Bertram left them with only one bottle of sealant and they had no way to contact him as they had no mobiles on their person. Client called Rudy but Rudy no longer answers client's calls at this point so client calls Bertram and the latter delivers the second bottle of sealant at 3:30pm, bottle clearly marked Satin Finish. The 2 guys complete the work by 5pm Bertram then appears at the client again and after client indicates he is not happy with the finish and Bertram indicates that the finish will look clearer once its dried out - but the job is atrocious and there are pictures to prove this. There are pieces of paint brush stuck in the flooring. The work is blotchy, patchy and all lines are very clear between sections and this should have been a seamless finish. 16 Nov 2021 Client calls Inge for remedial action and Inge indicates Rudy will be at clients premises on 17 Nov 2021. Client indicates this is not good enough and that Rudy should come to the client on the day of 16 Nov 2021. Rudy (finally) calls client at 8:22am and indicates he will call again at 1pm for a site visit on 16 Nov. Throughout all of these interactions the client has upheld their side of the contract which was to execute full payment. However the standard of work delivered is well under-par. We have basically paid almost R17 000 to now have this all redone. Throughout this entire nightmare not once did ANY of the staff at Screed Flooring apologise for the experience thus far. There is no accountability, ownership or proper control over teams and the quality of work being delivered.
No refund is offered - check their terms and conditions. We effectively paid R17k for them to ruin our floors and now have to pay different contractors to fix and redo. Based on other positive reviews I can only guess at their profiling of clients and who they deem it acceptable to treat in this manner.</div>
