Scorpian suppoerts \\\\\
I have been receiving spam marketing texts from Scorpian without my permission and the opt out issue doesn't seem to remove me from this companies database. This is a greedy and inconsiderate company indeed. Please do not support or use this company's services!!!! Terrible!!!!
Dear Muller,
Thank you for bringing your complaint to our attention.
You were quite possibly marketed to via our AVM (Automated Voice Messaging) channel, which is one of the legitimate ways businesses can market directly to the public.
Our AVM channel supplier obtains prospective client details through a marketable database, built up over a period of time by different data vendors. Under current South African legislation, data collected in this fashion can be utilised for direct marketing purposes and operates on an opt-out basis. This means that the onus is unfortunately on you to opt-out appropriately to avoid future communications, which you could do by selecting opt out when prompted to do so at the end of the AVM message.
On receipt of your complaint, we have instructed our AVM supplier to exclude your details in all our future direct marketing campaigns to avoid future contact that might offend you.
To assist you further, may we suggest that the best remedy for avoiding future direct marketing contact from all legitimate South African businesses, and not just Scorpion Legal Protection is for you to add your telephone numbers to the National Opt Out register. In order to this, please go to www.nationaloptout.co.za to opt out of the Direct Marketing Association's National Opt Out Register. You should give it a lead time of about 4 weeks after which you should not receive any more direct marketing messages. It is advisable that you keep record of this registration for future reference.
Apologies for the inconvenience caused.
Thanks and regards,
