Poor service
I am writing this review with extreme frustration due to a persistent and unacceptable pattern of non-communication, severe delays, and fundamentally inadequate legal support from Scorpion Legal Protection. My experience since joining has been marked by significant distress, financial concern, and a complete failure by Scorpion to act in my best interests. 1. Total Failure of Follow-Up on Legal Advice (October 2025) Despite receiving formal written legal opinions from Scorpion's team, there has been zero action or follow-up: Legal Opinion to Lodge Complaint with LPC (Oct 2, 2025): I was advised to lodge a complaint with the Legal Practice Council (LPC) regarding my previous legal representation. As of today (November 20, 2025), I have received no updates, communication, or assistance in lodging this critical complaint. Notice to Open a New Case (Oct 12, 2025): I received a notice from Mr. Godfrey Netshi indicating I should be assisted in opening a new case. Again, I have received absolutely no support or contact from Scorpion's team to action this. My specific, written requests for updates and next steps have been entirely ignored, causing further distress and loss of valuable time. 2. History of Severe Delays and Lack of Assistance The current non-response is part of a larger, systemic problem: Months of Silence: I have experienced instances where it took four to five months for any response to my legal matters. Zero Assistance: Even when I manage to reach out, I often do not receive any substantive assistance to move my cases forward. This is a fundamental breach of the service promised by a legal protection provider. 3. Sub-Par Representation and Misconduct during CCMA Arbitration (July 2025) My original complaint, which triggered the ongoing issues and led to the need for a Legal Practice Council complaint, relates to the representation I received: Pressure to Settle & Exclusion: My representative, Mr. Stefan Nel (of JH Olivier Inc), presented a one-month settlement offer without consulting or preparing me and insisted it was the 'best outcome.' I felt pressured and signed under duress. Exclusion from Discussions: Mr. Nel privately conferred with the employer’s lawyer and conversed in Afrikaans during the proceedings, a language I do not understand, effectively excluding me from critical discussions. Failure to Provide Evidence: I have been repeatedly stonewalled in my attempts to obtain crucial documentation, specifically: Minutes from the initial CCMA meeting where a 3-month settlement was discussed. The recording that I witnessed Mr. Nel making with his phone during the arbitration session, which would verify my claims of misconduct and duress. Scorpion's internal response to my misconduct claims has been to simply state the matter is 'finalised as a settlement agreement was signed,' effectively dismissing serious allegations of lawyer misconduct and duress without proper investigation. Conclusion and Demand My experience with Scorpion Legal Protection is one of utter disappointment, negligence, and a failure to meet the most basic client support expectations. I am deeply concerned that my rights are not being protected and that Scorpion is prioritizing protecting the lawyers involved over addressing my legitimate complaints and acting on its own advice
