I submitted an appeal for Permanent Residence permit in January 2016. I should have received the response within a period of 90 days, as per DHA policy. After 6 months I started making telephone calls to followup. I was just informed that it was still pending. I continued making calls on intervals of every 2 to 3 months. In addition to that, I sent emails. I received no response. As a member of Scorpion Legal Protection, I handed over the problem to them. It was handled by Khuliso Tshiringwana. He asked for copies of the emails I had sent to DHA. I gave him. He started to make followup as well. He sent several emails to DHA on intervals of 4 months or so. There was no response. He then suggested that it was high time to escalate the matter wit the Public Protector. In October 2019 he did all the paperwork form me to submit to Public Protector. I submitted. In no time Public Protector responded that they were going to attend to the problem. At the end of June 2020 I received a response that result was due for collection. I collected. I was granted Permanent Residence status I had app**** for. I salute and applaud Scorpion Legal Protection for solving my problem. It is a real blessing for Scorpion Legal Protection to have Khuliso in the company. From the onset he gave me confidence not to panic, but to be patient. Khuliso was always in touch with me. If I had looked for a private legal advisor, I could have paid a lot of money. Now just for the monthly subscription fees that I pay, I got such a flamboyant service without paying any extra cent.
