Case Management and resolve unsatisfactory

Hello Peter,

I am concerned about what I am paying for with Scorpion legal. I sent a case (674411) in which I need help with regarding a lease agreement and water payment. I have been at the current residence for 2 years and have never been billed for water. Mainly because there is NO water meter for the unit I am in. Just a water meter for the whole complex.

I sent the lease and the matter to Scorpion as I had asked the agent to show me where she had got the amount she is billing me for water, and why it has not been billed before, as well as how she calculated the amount. She could not tell me this hence I sent the matter to Scorpion to assist.

I feel that Scorpion is not taking the matter seriously. The agent has even sent an adverse TPN record on my name saying I paid partial rent when infact I paid full rent and just NOT the water am being billed for with no proof.

Instead of assisting me with the query and the lease, I am being advised to take up the query with TPN myself and to also consider going to the Housing Tribunal with the matter myself.

I am failing to understand this... How is it that Scorpion has not even attempted to contact the agent for a simple thing as asking how she got to the figures for water that she is billing my unit (R379 for July and now again R241) when the complex only has a meter for ALL units. As a starting point, that is a question I am still struggling with. I thought that the least I could have been assisted with is to get that information from the agent, as when I asked she failed to provide me with the meter reading that shows I owe THAT MUCH for water.

I am disappointed at the level that this case has been handled and everytime I get a phone call, there is nothing being provided to me in terms of ...'this is where we are with the case etc etc'...except that the lease says nothing about me paying water, neither does it say the owner of the unit should pay rent, as stated by Mr. Zondo when he called me.

The least I was hoping for was to get an understanding of where the case is, but almost two months I am only being told what I also know...further to this, I think it is unfair to ask me to send Scorpion the TPN form so you can FILE it, after I have disputed the information myself...I honestly don't think I am paying Scorpion to file documents and information...I thought I am paying for a service...one that I am currently painfully disappointed in.

I am being exploited by an agent for her own gains and lawyers who are supposed to be assisting me and getting to the bottom of this are merely advising me to do everything and than send the documents for them to 'file"...what for...if I still have to do everything myself....
