What is the honest value of a 1oz gold Proof Kruger coin?
I purchased proof coins a few years ago.At the the time it was my first purchase and I was advised to include proof coins in my portfolio. Last month I made an enquiry to sell the coins back to you.I got a valuation that was 25% lesson than what I paid. When I enquired about this i was told it was actually better to sell proof coins privately as i would get more.So this month i approached 2 independent coin dealers and I recieved a valuation that was now 50% lower than my original investment.I was informed by one of these dealers that proof coins do not hold their numismatics value as before. Today I recieve a promotional email from Scoin whereby you are running a promo .You purchase a 1oz gold Proof Kruger coin ( no year specified on ad)for R47000 and get a 1oz silver Kruger valued at R1000 free.
Can some please explain to me what is going on:
I am aware that the price fluctuates. I am aware that it also has to do with demand. I am aware that you need to make a profit.
Your valuation to me last month was more or less R34000.I was advised to go externally and 2 days ago I got a valuation of around R24000 Today you advertise the 1oz proof for R47000.What is the correct value as at today for a 1oz gold proof coin.Between external coin dealers and Scoin , someone is not being honest about providing a fair value for these coins.
