The Scoin Shop - SafeGold - requiring a payment I never agreed to

SafeGold, The Scoin Shop's deposit option, has notified me of an amount I owe them. I am told I owe R2700 for the past 2 years - an amount I was not quoted or agreed to. I agreed to and paid an annual fee of R1260 in November 2020. Can SafeGold demand from me something I did not agree to 2 years later? This cannot be in line with the consumer protection act.
