Bad ethics, broken commitments.

I was assured by 1 of the owners, Daniel that the reviews on Hello Peter were unjust and unfair and so I stupidly took a chance with this company. First I was told they could do the work if I paid the full amount upfront (what??) then after I cancelled as I didn't like their attitude or reviews, I was told I could pay after the work was complete (thanks?)

The work was estimated to take 1 day which it did not, so that was annoying and this was only communicated to me when my domestic worker told me they weren't going to finish on that day. I had to call and confirm this. No communication!

I was told the council had to come and so some work on the outside of the house. The council came promptly and had to advise the electricians on how to do their job as they weren't aware of a 2 year rule in place that specifies who is supposed to do the work. More delays and arguements outside our house without a clear resolution.

Eventually I get an email the next morning saying we need to pay about R3000 to run a cable from our house to the switchboard as advised by council. Annoying but understandable, we agreed to pay. Problem was Schmidhauser took 3 days to get council out while I waited without hearing anything from them. I phoned and was told 2 different stories while they electricians went from council to council. More wasted time. Until I phoned, I was in the dark as to what was happening with my house. No communication again!

The day council come, I get another email saying the cable I need isn't 3k, it's now about 6k and the electricians will be there today. My agent waited all day for them and didn't pitch. No phone call, no email, NOTHING.

He was advised by council that no further work needed to be done inside the house and that we never needed a R6000 cable and was strongly advised to not pay a cent to Schmidhauser. I messaged the owner Daniel about this and his response shocked me. "Sorry about that, a sad mix up." I feel like we were almost taken advantage of and the cable business didn't feel right.

This whole experience has left me shocked and dissapointed. I also feel this whole experience was unneccessary and left a bad taste in my mouth. I would avoid this company and use an honest and reliable company. Understandable, it's hard to find these days.
