Negligent Officers
I called customer services this morning to report an incident that occured at the Benmore Shopping Centre in Parkmore, Sandton, Gauteng. I spoke to a gentleman by the name of Thomas. I was informed that i must send an E-mail detailing the incident. Please see bellow:
This morning on the 7th of november 2017, I went to the Picknpay at Benmore Gardens Mall. Upon arrival i noticed an SBV van parked outside the 1st entrance of the mall. I generally avoid going near these vans or the guards as i know that they are on edge with fluctuation of CIT ******ies lately! However, i proceeded to walk past the van VERY hesitantly but did notice that there was no armed guard near the van, so i continued. Upon exiting Picknpay and walking towards the first exit of the mall, I observed an armed SBV guard in front of me walking, For no reason what so ever, he took his semi automatic rifle off safety! I saw it and heard that very infamous clicking sound! I know my way around firearms too, so i know what i saw and heard! He then started what appeared to me, Strafing down the ramp of the entrance of the mall, but was running, with safety off, and one hand holding the rifle, with finger resting on the trigger! As i walked around the corner i observed a group of young african women! I then turned the other corner and there he was again, this time i had the lovely opportunity of having the muzzle pointing towards my tummy!
I am diagnosed with post traumatic stress disorder due to an armed ******* i went through! I had to go back to my workplace having a panic attack due to the negligence of your officer!
First of all, what the hell is a spotter doing in a shopping centre full of people with a semi automatic rifle!?!? A spotter normally take up position outside between vehicles so he can not be seen!
Secondly, I DEMAND to know WHY he took his fire arm safety off and started running while holding his fire arm with one hand?
Thirdly, What would you do if you were in my shoes and diagnosed with PTSD? Would you require that SBV now pay for my counselling as a result of their negligence?
I will be taking this matter further should i not get a response from SBV swiftly!
