Quicksure Saxum Insurance is a waste of time.

At the end of July 2016, we were affected drastically by the heavy rainfall in Durban.

Water levels on the ground floor reached close to 2m, causing damages to the lounge, dining room, kitchen, bathroom, toilet, and one bedroom.

A claim for content damage was opened the next day with Quicksure, whom I have been insure with for a few years.

It took about 3 weeks to get an assesor on site, which was not successful because this assesor failed to submit his report to head office. (according to quicksure).

They appointed a new assesor which took another 2 weeks to arrive. Once he handed his report in i have been following up almost everyday because i was told by Quicksure that this would take no longer than a week to finalise. It took about a month.

further quotes were requested from me with regard to what was damaged and what needs to be replaced.

Quotation was given and sent back with a few items taken off(which i agreed to- structural damaged content)

I final propasal amount off R 63,000 was given to me at the end of Septemeber ( 3 months later) which I signed the same day and gave back. This amount was was merely half of the content damaged but because we had no kitchen, bedroom and living areas - I could not wait much longer for this claim to be processed as this was a matter of urgency.

In the interim quicksure increased my premium by almost 80%.

Cash settlement signed and received in the 30th of September and its going on 2 weeks now and no money is reflecting in my account.

I was told last week that this claim will be paid out this week Thursday/Friday. I got a call this morning saying that the insurer is undergoing liquidation and all payments have been put on hold.
