SAUCONY SHOES LAST ONLY FEW WEEKS

My partner and I were advised to buy Saucony shoes by Runners Rest specialist sport shoe retail outlet in Stellenbosch at a cost of R1 800 per pair. Both of us were told that the shoes were perfect for hiking (our core requirement) and that they were waterproof. My partner's one shoe formed a large hole over the toe area in a few weeks after purchasing. The shoes had only ever been used for walking outdoors in good weather on mostly paved areas. As a previous league sportsman he has never had a problem with shoes breaking or displaying quick wear in any one area. On returning to the store it was disclosed that they often experienced this problem and that Saucony are not willing to replace or repair the shoes. In spite of many calls to both the store and communicating with the local representative, the matter remains unresolved with the store having sent the shoes to be patched over the hole. We are disgusted that both Saucony and the store KNOW about this weakness in the material and still market the shoes. On walking over wet grass (from dew) our socks are sopping wet and any cold wind blows right through the shoes. We feel that we were misled and **** to by both parties
