<p>My name is Mohamed Seedat and I am a student at the University of Pretoria. On the 22 September 2016 around 18h20 I was involved in an accident at the corner of Jan Shoba and Burnett street in Hatfield, Pretoria. This was reported at the Brooklyn police station and the Accident Report (AR) form number is 349/09/2016. I was going straight on Jan Shoba, when the other driver turned in front of me into Burnett street. I braked however my vehicle collided with his vehicle. The collision was recorded and the footage is viewable provided a copy of the Accident Report (AR) form is presented. I have seen the footage and it clearly shows that I had right of way.</p> <p>I have taken my car for evaluation at HJ Bosch & Sons Collision Repair Center. The evaluator evaluated the exterior of my vehicle and made a quote to the value of R23 153.40. I was informed by the evaluator that this was an estimated cost of the damages and that should other damages be found, the cost could change. I have contacted the insurance company of the other driver (SATIB Insurance Brokers), where I spoke to Debbie Bauer. I have made a third party claim to the insurance company, who initially denied liability for the damages to my vehicle. It has been over a month since the accident, and only after insisting that there is video footage showing that I had right of way, I was offered R5 108.28.</p> <p>I am currently a student and I have owned the vehicle for two years. Being a student, I cannot afford to insure my car. In addition, I cannot afford a lawyer to fight this case for me. As a student/consumer/individual, I feel that I have been taken advantage of by SATIB Insurance Brokers. I have been making alternative transport arrangements for the past month and I fear that my vehicle will not be repaired any time soon.</p> <p>I write this review to expose how businesses such as the above mentioned insurance company, abuse those less fortunate individuals like me. I write this with the hope that such exposure would assist me in the least, at gaining attention and putting pressure on SATIB Insurance Brokers to pay for the repairs to my vehicle.</p> <p> </p> <p> </p>
