Tyre ****
On Monday around 10.45am I pulled into the Sasol Garage on Republic Road to get my front left tyre pumped up, I had a slow leak since Saturday which I was monitoring and hoped to find time to sort it out later in the week.
I asked the attendent Vincent to pump up my tyre, but he said for R60 he could take out the nail and seal it /plug it for me.
I thought the solution was great as I was already late for a meeting and planned to go to get the tyre replaced later in the week. Getting it plugged gave me a little more time to sort it out.
Vincent asked another attendant to help, but he tried to get the nail out with what looked like a cork*****. I was very concerned that he would damage the car further. He told me to wait in the car, which made me nervous but I did. I was late and in a hurry so I got out of the way. But a few minutes late the guy scooted to the back tyre and it looked like he was putting something in the tyre. I quickly got out and went around there when he was trying to pull something out for another R60. There was nothing wrong with my rear tyre, I had been monitoring my car and having the pressure checked daily since Saturday.
I told him to leave it, paid the R60 and left, but my car now has two slow leaks instead of one.
I would like Sasol to check their cameras and if something was put into my back tyre, to get more money from me, then to take action as I would hate more customers to be taken advantage of as I was.
I certainly will not be going to that garage again.
