Traumatizing experience at Sasol Dorondia Madelief Center

My husband and I stopped by to refuel, planning to use my Sasol Rewards card since we didn’t have cash. The attendant, Kabelo, confirmed I had R40 in points and gave us the green light to fill up. That’s where things went downhill — fast.

After fueling, we were told to go inside the shop to redeem the points using a One-Time PIN (OTP). We waited over 20 minutes and no OTP ever came. The cashier was rude and dismissive, blaming our phone — even though it was clearly working (we tested it). When we explained we had a business to run, the cashier simply said we could "wait all day."

My husband went back to Kabelo to explain the OTP issue, and instead of any help, he was called a petrol ***** — loudly and aggressively. Yes, seriously. After we fueled with permission and were clearly trying to resolve a system issue, we were accused of theft.

But it gets worse.

30 minutes later, Kabelo actually came to our business premises — just a few minutes away — with two police officers, and accused me of *****ing in front of our clients. The public scene they caused was beyond humiliating. I lost two clients on the spot due to the embarrassment. My business reputation took a direct hit — all because of a malfunctioning rewards system and *********** staff

To make matters worse, this wasn’t even the first time the Sasol rewards system failed me — it had been offline just two days before at the same station. But this time, instead of acknowledging the issue, they treated me like a ********

The behavior from both Kabelo and the cashier was disgusting — rude, unprofessional, and emotionally abusive. I’ve genuinely been left traumatized by this experience, and my trust in the Sasol brand is completely destroyed.

I absolutely do NOT recommend this station, or Sasol in general, until they address how they treat their customers — especially when their own systems faiil
