Sasol Wilropark
So I went to Sasol Wilropark as I stay close to it. Wanting to buy a loose cigarette I was told it costs R4 for one sigarette! Firstly it is ******* to sell loose cigarettes and thats why its on a cash only basis, so the owners make alot extra selling loose cigarettes and bull****ting the government because they dont pay tax on it. Secondly how in hell can they ask so much for one smoke. They make more than double on a pack of 20s and there are alot of less privileged people buying loose cigarettes because they cannot afford to buy a whole pack because its so damn expensive. Having worked on petrol stations on fuel management systems I am well aware of the laws regarding this and most petrol stations ie, shell and caltex etc dont even sell cigarettes on the side because they know its *******. I dont support ******* selling of cigarettes but unfortunately now and then I have to succumb to buying a loose because I cannot always pay R30 or more for a pack. Yes its a bad habit but lets face it there are billions of people who smoke, and we are already paying an arm and a leg to support our habits then you get these money hungry places that makes extra out of something thats supposedly governed but clearly some institutions are above the law. I would rather go without a smoke than being ********** by some petrol station making extra money ripping people off on the side. Although I know who owns this particular service station, I think that this kind of ******* practice needs to be made more public so that they can be exposed and fined for not disclosing all of their income generated by whatever they sell. We are being ********** on a daily basis everywhere and we just do nothing about it. This will keep on happening to the poorer people, where we work hard for what we have and still get ****** and insulted by forcing us to pay more for something. And this is not just about the price of a loose cigarette. This is about much more in general concerning petrol stations because they charge what they want for whatever they are selling and people are stupid and still support them. Its already bad enough that fuel costs a fortune. We should stop supporting petrol stations by not buying anything at the shop. Obviously we still need fuel, but is it worth paying so much more for a cold drink or pack of smokes where you can just go around the corner to a checkers or pick n pay and pay much less. It all ads up eventually and the amount of money we spend at fuel stations is shocking. The prices at fuel stations on Any product should be regulated and evaluated by the government to prevent us from being ********** just to make someone else rich. Something needs to be done about this. Ive been a supporter of this petrol station for over 15 years and this place has turned into a customer rip-off institution with the aim to get as much money out of the public as possible without even blinking an eye. My review will probably be ignored like 95% of the reviews from other consumers on here but as long as people see it and agree with what I am saying. We are living in a sick society fueled by greed and power and we just blindly fall into the trap. We are labelled as a poor country but we can sustain the retail industry by pumping in billions every year. Thats why people are living in poverty. Some of us just live above the breadline, surviving and working to stay alive and alot of people and families cant even live decently because the little they earn has to be spent immediately otherwise they will end up on the street. So what now? Just keep quiet and let us get **********, or say something and be heard. Thats the point of freedom of speech right? I wonder how many people will agree with me...
