SASOL STINKS

Reporting a most unfortunate incident at ta Sasol service station on Wednesday 12th December. This in all probability not the fault of the service station but caused by corporate rules and regulations enforced upon them/to adhere to. I stopped at the pump island closest to have my tyre pressure checked. The attendants were busy and I then drove to the furthest island. I myself checked the tyres but twice my car’s tyre pressure monitor were not happy. I then left with mission unaccomplished. As I drove out, there was the horrible sound of something hitting my car on passenger side. Bewildered and astounded I stopped, not knowing what could have happened. A couple of concerned attendants (2 or 3) rushed towards me realising that I bumped against the safety bollard at the end of the island. I could see that the damage was extensive but one the attendants immediately fetched a cloth and polish thinking he would be able to wipe out the damage. In hind sight probably a fairly regular occurrence? Devastated by the unexpected damage I immediately reported to insurance and according to the assessor, this happens all the time. with damage amounting to R 35 000. Since the incident I investigated the situation at various other service stations, none of which protrude beyond the island.

Repeated emails to Sasol asking for an explanation remain unanswered.
