Ignoring Covid-19 rules level 2
Sasol Petrol Station @ KZN, Newcastle, Harding and Hardwick Streets I stop on a regular basis at the New Sasol Petrol Garage in New Castle – Both to fill-up and to make use of convenience store. It has become habitual for Traffic Officers to sit in groups of 2, 3 & sometimes 4 without wearing face masks. Social Distancing are absolutely not adhered by these officers and this includes NOT wearing masks inside the shop. The latest incident occurred this yesterday (03 June 2021 – 06h50), three Traffic Officers sat right next to each other inside the store without wearing face masks. I have to adhere to the rules however the Service Station and Shop allows the Officers to be above the law. I have also noticed that they sometimes stands at the warm food area NOT wearing masks. Refer to the disaster management act - Mandatory protocols when in a public place 49 C (1) (2) (3, B & C) (6, E). Also see an article in the business insider - www.businessinsider.co.za/not-wearing-a-mask-is-now-a-direct-********-offence-after-reluctant-rules-update-2021-2.
