Create a Safe workplace for employees.

On 12 May 2022 at 8am at the counter, I experienced a very dangerous situation. A female cashier asked the male petrol attendant to please be patient with his receipt as she was still serving me,and would attend to him thereafter. He was busy waving his receipt impatiently. What a mistake that was , as he flew into an immediate and complete rage, spewing insults at her, asking her who the hell she thinks she is and that she may not talk to him as she pleases. He was pointing directly at her face, shouting and promising to beat her up terribly. He repeated twice that he would beat her to an absolute pulp and even stepped forward towards her with his eyes wide open. She was spared by the counter that separated them. He was standing to my immediate right and by this point I was a nervous wreck. The loud voice sent shivers down my spine :( sadly the manager just came out from the back upon hearing the shouting ,and said "hey,hey", then went back to the back. At this point the attendant started pacing in the shop before storming out. I had everything from a racing heart beat to shaking hands, and I can only wonder about the female colleagues that have to put up with this every day. Creating a safe working environment for us as women is not a privilege but a right, and same should be afforded to our male counterparts.I hope the women at Sasol Ormonde View can experience this right freely cause it was clear from the reaction of the other female cashier, that this was the norm for them, nothing new ,"he does this all the time".
