beware of DUPLICATE CHARGES WHEN BUYING PETROL / GAS AT MOTOR SERVICE STATIONS NEAR AIRPORTS

I filled up my ford ranger to the SASOL RILEY STREET BEDFORDVIEW on 2 April 2025 at 15h30 , for an amount of R 1421.68.

When I got home, I saw that SASOL RILEY STRRET had debited my card with 2 amounts OF R 1421.68

i asked them to stop payment on one amount of R 1421.68 and reverse the duplicate card charge

I have advised the SASOL RILEY Street manager , Charlize , and my ABSA CARD DIVISION , through the ABSA ROSEBANK BRANCH today of this error.

to date i am still waiting for the reversal of the duplicate card.

i have noticed that gas stations near the AIRPORTS have a habit of putting though DUPLICATE CHARGES , as often customers are tourists , and they only discover the DUPLICATE CHARGE WHEN THEY GET HOMe , and then its impossible to get the reversal. I HAS HAPPENED TO ME AT THE BP SERVICE STATION at CAPE TOWN INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT TOO>
