Price given vs Price paid

My sister went to have her hair done at this hairdresser. I have never, ever heard that you get given a price when you walk in and walk out paying an extra R550. She had her hair done yesterday they quoted her R1700. When she went to pay, the receptionist told her that she had to pay R2255. She burst into tears and told the receptionist that her husband is going to be very upset as she told him that it will be R1700. The hairdresser, Theresa told her that even though she is going to use a bit more color she will still charge her the same price as she know that she is on a tight budget. Today, I told my sister to call the salon and talk to the owner as this is not ethical and that the owner to save face should refund her the money that they OVERCHARGED. This was the response she got. The owner called me he said that he can't do anything to help the situation he spoke to his staff and he believes that they did give me a price... Such a lie. The lady cutting my hair told me that she will not charge me for the full color because she wants to keep the client happy and she needs to do that to get the color she needs to get two. Then she said they will not charge me for that. He does not care that I'm going to media about them. This is terrible service, especially when an owner treats their paying customers this way. Just though that customers wishing to make use of their services must be very, very careful when it comes to what you are told you will pay and what you actually get charged.
