You STINK

Back in the day, I used to submit my return manually, and then sit back and wait. Then Sars introduced e-filing and my tax return went from weeks to days to sort out. Then last year, some government flunky decided that people like me need to be audited. So last year I submitted the requested docs, and my return was sorted out in 5 days. This year, it has been a comedy of errors. My Bank was only able to give me my IT3B on 11 July [this was despite having posted me the thing on 11 June, but as we know SA no longer has a postal service]. So on 11 July I filed my return and was once again selected for a proctological exam by SARS. I uploaded the docs they called for within ten minutes of them asking for them. Fast forward to today, 7 August 2015. I phoned the call center and they advise that it can take anywhere up to 60 days to teach some flunky how to learn how to read so that they can assess my already assessed return. So some time in the distance future I will either get my refund or Nkandla will get a new toilet seat courtesy of my refund. I don't expect a response from SARS, but am very disappointed that SARS is now as useless as Zuma is.
