Unresolved Tax Refund
I have been struggling since last year to get my travel claim refunded to me. SARS advised that it will take 60 days to resolve. SARS requested proof that vehicle is in my name. I requested paperwork from bank and submitted to SARS. SARS advised that I issued the incorrect document as they require the signed purchase agreement, which I then submitted. 60 Days started all over again. SARS then advised that my claim is being rejected because I was late and I now owe them money. We filed an objection on 11/12/2016. 60 Days started all over again. Two months later (February 2016) SARS requested that the objection be re submitted. This was done on 9/2/2016. 60 Days started all over again. And again on 14/03/2016 the objection was filed again. And once again 60 days start all over AGAIN!! Surely 60 days is 60 days. Why does the 60 days start over and over. Surely the whole process from going back and forth should fall within the 60 day period? It's been nearly 8 months already!!! When I logged a complaint, I got a response within the hour stating my complaint is being rejected. How come the actual process takes so long but their response to reject my complaint took less than a day?
