Tax return nightmare
<p>Here is a rough timeline of my tax return 2016 submission and results. SHOCKING!!</p> <p> 20 Oct 2016 :Send my tax return and supporting docs to my tax consultant for submission to SARS</p> <p>Oct to Dec 2016. Request for additionalsupporting docs.. I comply with all requests</p> <p> 8 December 2016. Receive a SARS notifiication of a refund due to me to the amount of R75 078.72</p> <p>25 Jan 2017 Check the status of my tax return </p> <p>2 Feb 2017 receive reply that I am being audited</p> <p>2 March 2017 I am told that an audit can take 3 to 12 months</p> <p>22 March 2017 receive correspondence from my tax consultant that I owe SARS R164 345.04 !!!</p> <p>what is going on at SARS . The tax consultant says they will do a NOO, whatever that means.</p> <p>Ho do I resolve this??</p>
