I am not sure how this is possible. SARS opened my 2022 assessment year, by error. I was told by the call centre agent to submit an affidavit to ask them to open a 2021 assessment. Instead of deleting 2022 because even their own people are puzzled by this error. They spend time sending threatening messages to pay for 2022 assessment. Now you can't go to the branch, instead, you need to spend hours on the line just to book an appointment.
