SARS ********* WORKING STANDARD AND MISLEADING PUBLIC INFORMATION

On the 16th July 2024 I submitted my 2024 tax return. I was then requested to verify my banking details which I submitted on the 18th July 2024. Then I was informed Im on a 21 day verification hold. Every week thereafter i was requested for more documents etc etc. All this was done within this 21 days. My 21 days precisely ended on 14th August 2024. After numerous calls to the call centre when you finally reach a consultant the call miraculously just get ended which gives you the option to either redial and stand in que of 600's or leave it for the next day. I have over 5 call references numbers as proof of this frustrating process. I now finally opted to lodge a complaint and have the reference number to this effect, 18th August 2024 today, and was informed that from the date of me uploading requested documents, I am automatically placed on another 21 days from date of submission. I enquire from the call centre agent if this is a known standard working procedure to us the citizens of SA. Nowhere, has the SARS Commissioner in all his media briefings, SARS representatives to the Soutth African citizens as fact, make it known of this internal SARS standard working procedure. Why, when nationally the SARS Commissioner and SARS Media officials confirm that all verification matters are endeavored to be resolved WITHIN 21 DAYS no additional information of any further 21 days etc is mentioned, whilst verification process is pending. Therefore, I request the SARS Commissioner to adhere to his ethical obligation towards the citizens of South Africa, I myself a proud citizen, to be afforded this service commitment of 21days of my verification which ended on the 14th August 2024 be honored and my reimbur*****t that is due to me to be settled as soon as possible. I refuse to wait an additional 21 days again as I adhered to all requested documentation within my first 21 day period.
