SARS tactics to discourage People from claim their returns

<p>I submitted tax returns on the begining of November 2016. As a temporary employee my medical aid contributions were not considered by default so I took the membership certificates to SARS to claim my returns. Of which they put me into audit. I waited 4 months and still had no communication or any response from SARS until I called. I was told to bring only my bank statement. Which i did and queued for 5 hours only to be told i had to bring another document by a useless helpdesk staff in the Pretoria branch. Where was I going to print this proof of address at 4 30pm? Nevertheless, my bank statement has a FiCA verified address why cant they use that? I told them i could email them the proof of address. But no this fell on def ears. Bear in mind, had I had been told to bring this document I would definately had. </p> <p> </p> <p>But then again SARS is just another useless government entity that is only good at taking tax papers money and makes things a struggle for tax payers to claim their returns.</p> <p> </p> <p>What a useless governement.</p> <p>I am disappointed, we pay so much tax and they are just useless.</p>
