SARS Stopper clearance will take upto 3 months

So, i filed for a tax return in November and in the process I had to update my Banking details as I had changed it the month before.
As per process, SARS put a stopper on my account pending verification of the new banking details, and thus I could not get the money owed to me by SARS. This I understood, and in an effort to rectify the issue, I took the day off, gathered all the documents required and went to the branch.
Everything was cleared and I was told the stopper has been lifted. 1 week later, i still didn't receive the money and when I called the contact centre, I was told it may take upto 3 months to clear it. Really? 3 months? For updating my banking details and spending half the day gathering your requirements and being told this after, I bet if it was the other way around (I owe SARS), issue would've been resolved faster and i would been forced to make an arrangement to pay the amount immed.
Not happy with this, i'm sure there should be a better way of lifting the stopper as the verification was already done by SARS employee why do I now have to wait for approx 3 months for another SARS employee to work on clearing this again. This should be done automatically by the system and not telling me there's a backlog a person has to go through.
