SARS should fix its defective eFiling system -- not dismiss the complaints of taxpayers
I need to resubmit the 2012 tax return for a Trust of which I am the First Trustee. For six months now I have been trying to get SARS consultants to help me to make the resubmission, but without success. The eFiling system is faulty and will not generate the required form. The SARS consultants refuse to believe what I say, and nonchalantly tell me, "just click on Request a Correction". They have no way of seeing my computer screen -- which would convince them that the eFiling system freezes when I follow this instruction. Escalating to their managers does not help (I have tried, case # ********** 32, March 12, 2019). Submitting a formal complaint to SARS also fails (I have tried, complaint # ********** 58, May 7, 2019) -- and in the crudest way possible, since I received, on March 10, 2019, a "Complaint Rejection Letter" from SARS stating that "your complaint cannot be considered any further", because it is an "invalid complaint"; no reasons were given as to why my complaint about the SARS' defective eFiling system is invalid. All I want is that SARS fix the system fault in eFiling so that I can make the resubmission of the ITR12T.
