SARS not living up to their promise

Filed my returns for 2024, in April, audit done and approved. Portal says refund will be paid within 72 hours, and after all this time I am still waiting. Called the call centre on 29 July, held the line for over an hour, just to get told I need to go to a branch to have it sorted out. They can however call me on 8 September to discuss the matter, so now my question is, why do I need to wait 10 weeks for my refund due to me? Quick to take, but slow to give!!!!!
