According to SARS the activation won't take longer than 21 business days.

Nadia had a meeting with Gloria Phahle from SARS Doornkloof offices on 6 December 2021

Gloria confirmed that she can see everything submitted is correct and that the tax ref number should have been activated already and that she will speak to her supervisor to activate it.

It's still not activated.
