SARS MANUAL INTERVENTIONS ....SIGH AGAIN

While I generally find SARS pretty helpful and the tax filing process seemless- this is the second time I have encountered this issue. I was helping a friend who urgently needs his tax refund as he is umemployed and it was flagged for manual intervention for an outstanding directive. Surely there is a better way to deal with this- this means a 4 month wait when it could have just called for documentation like a regular audit process?>?
