I went to SARS department for my tax directive follow up - Horizon Village Roodepoort - the application was sent out for about 3 months and of which they keep on telling please come back again next month for follow up.
This time they telling me the tax directive had been rejected due to the names being miss-placed internally by their team members and for that I should revisit the branch and seat for those 4 to 5 hours before your number is called out for assistance.
How can they mis-place a name and surname while they have copies of my original identity document - as pregnant as I am I have to go seat in their uncomfortable metallic chairs for extra 5 hours to restart the all process all over again.
My question to that teller was- If the directive is rejected because of the names being mis-placed by you the SARS office members after seating for those long hours with no internal toilets - Please advise if the tax number that was created under my account is also wrong? because that means the tax number should also be wrong? 1. She became speechless - no clarification of whatsoever 2. She could not even give me a clear answer or find a solution 3. Is to mean my company had been paying money that I would never claim back because they had given me a wrong number 4. They don't have appropriate s****s or methods or it could be lack of proper training given to their team 5. there's no follow up process - when clients open their tax account SARS is to contact clients and confirm of their details before registering them and taking their little money
How can the Economy work out well if the system is broken and its peoples are failing to do their jobs accordingly.
NO one is suppose to have a tax account if we are not sure as to who is receiving the money and who is governing this field.
