Im very displeased with the way SARS has handled my issue. As far as my knowlwdge goes i have 1 Tax Number that ia have been submitting my returns with, a Tax Directive was done on my profile and it was declined stating that my Tax Number was invalid. After visiting the Pretoria CBD Branch i was assisted by an employee who informed me that i has 2 Tax Numbers and one will be deactivated as it was just dormant. I was told the process would take 21 working days from the 23 May 2016. After numerous calls to the SARS Call Centre i was informed that my case has to be escalated until someone contacts me to resolve my issue and that another escalation has been made meaning i have to wait for a further 21days from the 21 June 2016. I visited the same branch today (21days) the 22 June 2016 where i was informed that the case was still pending. I was informed that there is nothing they can do accept for me to wait until the person who is dealing with the case completes it. I was also informed that they do not have contact with the people who deal with this and all i have to do is wait. Iwas also told the the only person who can help is the Manager who is currently attending a workshop. An escalation has been done on my case and i just have to patiently wait until i've been contacted. My frustration is that if i have a duplicate Tax Number thats inactive why should i have to wait for it to be deactivated as there is nothing in that profile.? Why should only the manager be the only person who can assist me and who are these "backroom" employees who are dealing with our cases that we cannot have contact with them so that can resolve our cases amicably? Please assist in this regard
