OVERTAXATION

<p>I work for the department of education and recently submitted my pgce certificate. The department then backpayed me from January to July an amount of R36388.61 then SARS deducted an alarming R11026.39 for this period only. I have been taxed R1707.13 per month for the past 7 months in addition to the R11026.39. More over I signed a form that my bonus must not be taxed since I pay an additional monthly tax. Now I want to know if this taxation is justified? Why am I paying so much tax? </p>
