No urgency, as usual

I submitted my e-filing return on time 2017-11-20. I was subsequently selected for an audit. I went to the SARS offices in Roodepoort (Horizon) and submitted all the required documents on the 24-11-2017. SARS then took their own time to finalise the audit and went over the 31 day turnaround time to do this. I then had to escalate the matter on the 12-01-2018. My refund was eventually released on the 25-01-2018, just to be reversed the same day. I was requested to once again take in the same documentation that I took in the first time, which I then did on the 26-01-208. This was almost two weeks ago, and still I don't have my refund. The only response I get is that there is no turnaround time for them to release my funds.

SARS is sooo quick to take their money, or to penalise you for late submission, but when they have to pay you money that is owed to you, they just take their own time, and frankly don't give a damn how long you need to wait. They tend to forget that they too are supposed to deliver a service to the citizens of this country, yet they seem to only be interested in collecting money for the government.
