No tax return- going on 6 months

Submitted my tax return on the 1st of August 2018, today is the 20th of December and I have not received anything. My auditors follow-up weekly, everytime we get told it got sent for audit beginning September but that there is no issues with the documents. I followed up on monday still the same “its being audited” I pay my tax every year yet I am unable to get my tax return? How disappointing, yet another company to add to the list of state that doesnt function properly anymore, such as saa, sabc ... etc. I am owed a refund and its going on 6 months.
