No help with Tax Number

My son who has been without work for 6 years now, finally gets a job with hectic hours and is not allowed to take off work, that is his conditions. I phone SARS, they inform me they cant give me his tax no, he must contact them. In order to receive pay he needs to finalise tax information before the 15th. He e-mails SARS and they state that the query could be resolved in 21 days. He then tries to phone although he is not allowed to make calls during working hours. SARS then asks for his previous cell no. He has changed his cell no. several times over the years and he has the existing one more than 6 years. He cant remember his previous no now he is told to go to the tax office and he is not allowed to take off from the new job. How disgusting is this. The fact that SARS has the old no on record is not his fault. I mean his id should be enough, what is happening in the country of ours. Doesnt SARS have better ways to verify hard working citizens. He needs the money they have been battling without jobs for 6 years now and you cant assist. His id and cell of 6 years is in this complaint
